Frequently Asked Questions
Are there cancellation costs?
There are no cancellation fees. You can rest assured that your website is safe with us. We offer a monthly or annual care plan without any questions asked, and you’ll have complete freedom to pull out. Your care plan is billed for the month or year that’s paid for.
Are there set up costs?
If we are building your website, there’s no set-up fee as long as it’s within a 90-day period!
However, if after 90 days you would like to sign up for one of our hosting and maintenance plans we charge a £67 set-up fee. This cost covers updating all tools, cleaning up the database, installing our tools and backing up the site including other tasks.
We charge a £129 one-time setup fee for any website we did not design. We need to do extra work to update the site and learn any tools in order to get the site ready to be properly maintained.
What happens if I decide not to take out the plan?
Our maintenance plan is not mandatory for clients but we highly recommend it because of the importance and consequences that come with leaving your website un-maintained. This care package includes updates, backups as well as other security services.
If you choose not to sign up for our care plan then remember that all responsibility lies upon you. Our LIABILITY CLAUSE releases us from any involvement should your website be breached, hacked or perform slowly because of lack of optimisation and care.
Can I later join the plan if I initially pass on it?
Yes, of course. If you decide to come back after having initially passed on the plan, we would be more than happy to make sure your site is protected and cared for. Please refer to the setup fees question above for additional information regarding setting up a site after 90 days.
Can I roll over the monthly update time?
Unfortunately not. The retainer of any updates is just covered for that month only. It does not roll over for later use.
What if I have updates that need more time?
We will always aim to get your updates done within the planned time paid for to save on your costs. But, should you have a large number of updates that will require more hours, we will give you an estimate of time, and charge at an hourly rate.
Do you maintain websites you have not designed?
We can take on websites we did not design providing they use tools we are accustomed to, and as long as the web sites hosting meets our requirements.
Whats included in the monthly retainer time?
Your monthly retainer time entails updates, additions or add-ons to your website. (For example) changing hours, company information, staff or team members, adding photos, updating service pages, etc.
We do our best to get all updates done within your allocated time. If however, more time is needed, we can do so with our hourly retainer.
Please note: Your monthly retainer time is only for work or updates on the existing website and cannot be used for other projects or a step-by-step website revamp. We will be happy to do those things via a separate fixed project.
What can happen if I don't take out a website mainteance plan?
If you don’t want your website to go wrong, We recommend taking out this maintenance plan. Otherwise, this can happen:
- Your site will not be optimised. This leads to poor performance and slow loading times that will kill your Google SEO rankings.
- Your site will get hacked if you don’t update your plugins, themes and WordPress. It’s important to keep ALL the tools up-to-date for security reasons so make sure this does not happen.
- You will not have any backups or restore points. Should your site get hacked or breached, you could lose all your content, pages and Google ranking. The worst-case scenario happens, you’ll have to start from scratch.
- You will not have a monthly report overviewing your site traffic and page views, etc.
- Most importantly, you won’t have us as your trusted webmasters to assist you with quick updates, tweaks, website issues, etc.?
