If you’re running a business website, then you’re probably always looking for ways to increase your website conversion rate right? After all, a higher conversion rate means more leads and sales, and who doesn’t want that?

While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, my website conversion rate secrets outline certain things you can do to give your website a boost.

In this blog post, I’m going to share with you my top website conversion rate secrets. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Secret #1: Use Power Words in Your Headlines

The first secret to increasing your website’s conversion rate is to use powerful words in your headlines.

Power words are words that evoke emotion and grab attention. They are the reason why clickbait headlines are so effective.

Some examples of power words include “amazing,” “incredible,” “best ever,” and “you won’t believe what happened.” When used in headlines, power words can increase CTR by up to 30%. So if you’re not using them already, now is the time to start!

Secret #2: Have a Clear Value Proposition

The second secret is that you need to have a clear value proposition.

  • Why should someone do business with you?
  • What unique features and benefits of your product or service?
  • Your value proposition needs to be front and centre on your website, preferably above the fold on the hero section.

Secret #3: Simplify Your Website Design

The third secret is that you need to simplify your website design.

  • Keep the design clean and uncluttered.
  • Use whitespace to create visual breaks between sections of content.  And,
  • Use images judiciously – they should supplement, not replace, the written content on your website.

Secret #4: Write Compelling Copy

The fourth secret is that you need to write compelling copy.

  • Your headlines should be clear and attention-grabbing, and
  • your body copy should be persuasive without being pushy.

Remember, people buy from businesses they know, like, and trust – so focus on building that relationship with your website visitors by writing copy that is both informative and personable.

Secret #5: Use High-Quality Images and Visuals

The fifth secret to increasing your website’s conversion rate is to use high-quality images and videos, infographics, icons, and charts or graphs.

An image can say a thousand words, so you want to make sure that the images you’re using on your website are saying the right things about your business. For example, if you’re selling products on your website, then you’ll want to use high-quality product images that show off your products in the best light possible.

In general, try to avoid using stock photos whenever possible. Instead,

  • use real photos that feature real people using your products or services.

These types of photos tend to be more relatable and therefore more effective at converting website visitors into customers or clients.

Secret #6: Getting People to Take Action on Your Website

Whether it’s making a purchase or filling out a contact form – then you need to have a strong call to action (CTA).

Your CTA should be prominently displayed on every page of your website, and it should be worded in a way that encourages visitors to take the desired action. For example, instead of saying “Submit” on a contact form, try something like “Send me my free guide.”

Secret #7: Add Social Proof Elements to Your Website

Here’s another website conversion rate secret for you. Add social proof elements to your website.

Social proof is basically when we see other people doing something, we assume that it must be good and we should do it too. For example, if we see that our friends are using a certain product or service and they’re happy with it, then we’re more likely to use it as well.

When it comes to websites, some examples of social proof elements include:

  • testimonials,
  • customer reviews,
  • social media widgets, and
  • trust seals.

If you don’t have any of these elements on your website already, I highly recommend adding them as soon as possible. They could be the difference between a website visitor taking action or bouncing off your site never to return again.

Secret #8: Make Sure Your Website is Fast

One of the most important things you can do to improve your website’s conversion rate is to make sure it loads quickly.

A slow website will frustrate users and cause them to leave, which will hurt your conversion rate. There are a number of things you can do to speed up your website, including optimising your images and using a content delivery network.

Secret #9: You Need to Know Your Numbers

And finally, the last of my website conversion rate secrets is knowing what it is in the first place.

Without that crucial information, you’re just blindly throwing darts at a board and hoping for the best. So, consider and find out

  • what is your current conversion rate?
  • What is your goal conversion rate?
  • How much traffic do you need to your website to hit your goal?

You can set up Google Analytics tracking on your website so that you can measure these results and track your progress towards your goal.

So there we have it

If you can check all of these boxes, your website is likely converting well. But if you’re not seeing the numbers you want, it might be time for a redesign (or at least some tweaks). Luckily, I know just what to do. let me help you turn your traffic into sales with my expert web design services.
